Experiment: hypothetic-based in ecology
My hypothesis of this experiment is Acclimation can affect the temperature preference and the thermal tolerance of fish distribution.
As ectotherms, fish cannot regulate their body temperature and so warming will directly alter physiological functions such as thermal tolerance, growth, metabolism, food consumption, and reproductive success (Fry, 1971; Ficke et al., 2007; Portner & Farrell, 2008). If fish put in the cold water at first, so fish will prefer to the water that has low temperature.
The independent variable is the temperature variation, the dependent variable is the distribution of in certain temperature, the variable control is acclimation.
Finally, if fishes select temperatures that maximize metabolic scope, perhaps they similarly select for optimal levels of other environmental factors-those that also maximize metabolic scope. If so, there is a common scientific basis for evaluating relative and joint effects of diverse environmental variables on fish distribution.
